Believe it or not, I’m still here, just too tired at night to add anything new to this here blog. What’s that you say? You think I should try posting in the morning? Well, you don’t know me at all if you think I could possibly put together anything intelligent before noon! I. Am. Not. A. Morning. Person! But, I am alive and kickin’ and hopefully soon I’ll find the inspiration to take a few pictures to share or create a new image or two. Until then, enjoy your summer!

I guess you’ve noticed I lost interest in American Idol several weeks back. Oh, I do admit to recording it weekly, but some weeks, I just couldn’t be bothered to watch it at all. I didn’t care which David won, but I think the right one actually was declared the winner since he took risks week after week and was good. David Archuleta is a talented kid, but I only see him doing ballads. David Cook seems to have the total package, only time will tell!

Remember Taylor Hicks? Nothing much happening for him. Reuben Studdard hadn’t been seen until last night. Fantasia has had some success, but that screaming, booty-shaking performance from last week was too wild even for me and I will tell you I like many genres of music except for rap.

Oh well, until next season where I hope I’m inspired to stay hooked all the way to the very end!

Wow, I was at a baby shower tonight while Idol was on and was I ever shocked to hear Michael Johns was voted off when I looked up the results online! I really thought this guy had a shot at winning the whole thing. Hopefully, he will get the same opportunity as Chris Daughtry who didn’t win Season Five but has gone on to have some major success.

I really hoped this season’s winner would be the most talented, unfortunately, it looks to be a popularity contest. There are still some super talented people left, however, Michael deserved to last longer than this.

Yeah, so I am a procrastinator… what of it?

I am happy to report I am done with our return…. yes! Now to print it out tomorrow and get it in the mail and maybe, just maybe I will have a creative streak strike! I have made a few new images I haven’t shared. I’ll try to remember to upload those soon.

I will report I feel much lighter tonight… I do this every year to myself, can’t help it… I put things off, it is just the way I operate! But, on to better things now… perhaps even a few posts again!

Yes, people it’s Idol Wednesday at DonnaB’s! Ramiele is history and I sure like that tiny girl. She has a beautiful, powerful voice and I hope her dreams of singing are fulfilled. I still cannot commit to one contestant although Michael’s bluesy rendition of Dolly’s song last night was really, really good!

In other news, my friend at katiebuglove.com told me about downloading Safari for Windows and I can see after doing the same why she is raving about it! I’m using it now to surf and I think I may stick with it too. I have used Firefox for quite some time now, but this browser is lightning fast! Thanks for the heads up, Katie!

I very much enjoyed last night’s Idol and could not have guessed the bottom three this week. I was surprised to see Chekezie sitting there and in the end the very one to leave the show. I liked that young man and will miss his smiling face. This has to be the very best top ten in Idol history and I am still having a difficult time picking a favorite. I like them all!

She’s gone… Amanda I mean… and Denise will be happy. I still liked her cause she wasn’t afraid of being herself. She wasn’t the best singer and America probably got that one right. On to next week!

The calves made it through the torrential rains and high water. Ed went out this morning and all were accounted for. The sun is shining now and is a very welcome sight!

With the exception of a couple people, I was not amused.

That is all!

And I do mean rain! I emptied our rain gauge here in front of our house cause IT WAS RUNNING OVER! That gauge holds five inches and let me tell you, I emptied it hours ago and there is no telling how much more has fallen. But, get this… I AM NOT COMPLAINING! I promised to never complain about rain again. Remember all that whining I did a couple of years ago? Oh, I know you do!!!

When we went out this afternoon to check our cattle, we were shocked to see the ones at our north pasture crossing the creek which was flowing very swiftly and deep enough to reach the top of the bull’s back. Not so much a problem for him or the cows, but those tiny calves were following right along and DISAPPEARING out of sight briefly and making my heart stop! Thankfully, all made it through to the other side in that bunch. Who knows what happened to some out south of town. Part of them were on one side of the creek at the hay rings with the others across the creek waiting out the storm. I’m hoping they stayed put and didn’t force their babies to cross the rising water for that creek is twice as deep and ferocious.

I have a video, but it is too large to share online, just trust me when I say it was a scary situation and keep your fingers crossed we find them all alive and on high ground tomorrow.
