Chocolate Treat
I am a certified chocoholic… seriously, I have the certificate hanging on my wall! Nah, just kidding about the certificate, but I really am certifiable, just not sure you couldn’t add nut to the chocoholic!
My friend, Becky, was telling me about this treat a co-worker of hers makes and today, that co-worker told her again how to make them. Becky knew they were easy and she knew the ingredients she needed, she just didn’t know how long to leave them in the oven.
All that is needed is the small square or mini pretzels, Rolo® candy and pecans. You preheat your oven to 300 degrees, line a cookie sheet with foil (to prevent a big mess), lay out the pretzels on the sheet and lay a candy piece on each pretzel. Pop them in the oven for 3 and 1/2 minutes until the candy is soft, but not melting everywhere. Remove from the oven and immediately press a pecan half into the top of each treat. Place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes or so to set the candy and voila! Poor Man’s Turtles!
Let me tell you, these are fantastic and being the certifiable-addicted-to-chocolate-nut that I am, these are right up my alley!
Go! Google it and see the lovely photos and other ideas for pretzels and Rolo® or pretzels and Kisses® and various other things to press into the soft chocolate. You can thank me later. I’ve already thanked Becky!
