Lana’s Challenge 269 stated: “The regular rules pertain this week……just make sure we can find the challenge piece in the final image.”
The Challenge Pieces
My Christmas Spirited Image
Last year and this one I’ve ordered from Snapfish, Shutterfly and good ol’ Walmart. I’ve been pleased with all three and turned in yet another order for Wally World tonight. I also had photo books printed and was very happy with them too. The books are simply awesome. Nothing like thumbing through pages of your own images. Just thought I would pass that little bit of info along in case you were thinking of doing something similar and had not yet tried any of the available services.
Long day here… me, my Mom and Aunt Mary made it to the Uncle’s services this morning, ate lunch with the family and then visited with the relatives. Home again to do various things (I even managed to walk three miles!) and now I’m calling it a day. Hope yours was good!
Aunt M? I didn’t scan your photo or even look at the pictures I took today. I’ll try to do that tomorrow!
I always did like to play with paper dolls. Dressing them on your own with graphic software is just a bit (okay a lot) harder, but still fun! Actually clothing them is the easy part. Making hair, facial features and deciding on a background is tough! Especially since I have no natural talent at drawing and have no idea what my gal is supposed to represent until I’m way into the project. I decided Miss Thing here needed to be behind a movie camera and what better location than Paris, France… although really, I wouldn’t know!
Playing around in Paint Shop Pro last night led me to create this image. Then I went looking online for something to finish it off. I just couldn’t come up with anything clever to say myself so borrowed these words. I wish I knew who wrote them. We had our first freezing temperatures this morning and there are very few leaves left to swirl about on our trees. Winter is definitely here.
The good: We had an enjoyable day of visiting and eating with our families today. I sincerely hope you did too!
The sad: We lost two extended family members in the last few days. My maternal grandmother’s sister’s 28-year-old granddaughter passed away Tuesday (Nov. 20) and her husband of 68 years died this morning (Nov. 22). Both were expected in recent weeks and days, but still a sad time and one you can never prepare for. One loved one’s passing is devastating, but to endure two at the same time is definitely heartbreaking. The Aunt is 84 years young and no doubt will be enduring the hardest times of her life in the days, weeks and months to come.
I’ve read this poem before and it comforts me. For those of you that have lost loved ones, I hope it comforts you too.
Keep my memory with you
For memories never die
I will be there with you
When you look across the sky.
I will be there in the clouds
In the birds that fill the air
In the beauty of a fragrant rose
You will find my memory there.
You will feel me in the tenderness
Of a baby’s gentle touch
You will hear me if you listen
In the twilights gentle hush.
When your heart is heavy
And you feel that you are alone.
Just reach down deep inside of you
For your heart is now my home.
I will always be with you,
I will never go away,
For I will live on in your heart
Forever and a day.
Sajestic says: “I thought of ‘dress up.’ Anything goes, really, but I would really like to see the model kept as it is and put it into any type of image dressed up somehow or incorporated into a scene. It would be interesting to see what everyone comes up with using the same model. Soooooo, keep the model basically configured as it is, give it hair, eyes, etc. if you want to, dress it up and put it into a scene.”
