Scooter Libby Knows She’s Pretty!

This time a lot of country, a little gospel and very little rock and roll. The town south and east of us had events all day and then a band performed downtown free of charge tonight. All in all a great couple of days!

or so I thought!

Our little town has never had a community center until a short few years ago. It’s the old Methodist Church that was given to us to use since church services were no longer being held there. There’s been some improvements made recently to the building and tonight, the Fellowship Association held an old fashioned cake walk, served sandwiches, chips and dips and had a bluegrass band entertain us.

There were about thirty in attendance and one of the ladies who helped organize this event was pleased since it was a “first” other than the annual homecoming. I plan to let those that didn’t attend know they missed a great time and some good food. Ed even won a cake in the cake walk!

I just thought that type of music was not to my liking. This group of three men and one lovely lady were fun and talented and dadgum! “You can teach an ol’ dog new tricks”! Along with my pop, golden oldies, classic rock and today’s country, I can now say I’ve warmed up to the notion of being a bluegrass fan!

The Challenge Objects had to be visible in the finished image and could be rotated, colored and resized.

This is not as it came out of the camera. The original is a gray mess, this is much more visually appealing… or, at least I think it is!

Two of these beauties were flitting around the lantana blooms this afternoon. I had a hard time capturing a decent shot cause they were very busy. This was the best of the lot.

Um… well…. uh…. darn! I can’t find anything to say or show, guess the title of this post does not fit! I’m too lazy to change it, so this will just have to do for now. I’m having a bit of the don’t-want-to’s. Of course, that fits me every day, just seems today has been worse!

Here he is in all his itchiness! I hate to report his mange has worsened. It has now spread to his legs and there’s also a place on his back. I dipped him yesterday, the treatment recommended by our vet wasn’t working fast enough for me. I’ve also ordered some ointment and hope to have that in soon. I knew this could be an ordeal as we’ve treated a couple of other dogs that had been dropped with mange. I am happy to report they made a complete recovery, please keep your fingers crossed this little guy does too!

p.s. I have a new Point and Shoot camera. A 2006 release, so the price had dropped and it wasn’t that expensive to begin with. I love my digital SLR (Konica Minolta 5D), but carrying around it and a bag of lenses is sometimes more than what I want to do. This tiny Canon PowerShot A550 will fit in a pocket and more importantly, in my purse. I took the photo of the pitiful pup with it today and have no doubts I will be enjoying using it too. Although it is simple enough for a beginner, it also has some manual controls that I will enjoy using. I know you know from reading this blog that I have the photography bug and I’ve got it bad!
