Handsome Guy

Seeing as how I have nothing else worth writing about unless you want to hear more of my mantra on the rain. Three more inches yesterday and today in case you really are interested. I’m wearing that topic out so I’ll just bore you with more cat pictures…. and the thing is, I’ve got many more!

You want my life, don’t you? It’s so exhilarating what with my talk of the weather and critters. I just don’t know how much more of this excitement I can take. Go ahead, trade places with me, I dare ya! ;)

So Serious

Again with the cats, but I couldn’t begin to tell you what a treat they are to photograph. It’s as if they know they are beautiful! This girl is very sweet and quick to please although she is looks very serious in this photo.

Well no, I’m not modest!

I am loving taking photos of the new cats and this may be my favorite so far. This is a very sweet and loving boy and not a bit modest! ;)

I duplicated and warped the challenge from the Plus PSP group and made this crazy chair. You know the sad thing is I kinda like it! ;)

The Weather Broke…

Filed under: That random stuff — DonnaB at 7:47 pm on Saturday, July 7, 2007

the sun shined ALL DAY LONG and the cats are now outside and loving it! They can get back in the house to eat and drink water, but 4 o’clock this afternoon, underneath the house was a perfect spot for all three. I bet it was 20 degrees cooler under there. I knelt down to look at the boy cat (sorry no names yet) and could feel the cool air on my face. I went back 3 hours later and all were still safely tucked away and enjoying their freedom. As soon as I called, out they came to greet me. Hopefully, their presence will take care of the mice problem and give Patches some much needed company.

New Cats… no, not the Calico Kitten

Filed under: Photos — DonnaB at 9:55 pm on Friday, July 6, 2007

Brand new ones, as in we brought them home from the flea market last Saturday. This gal and her daughter had two cages full of kittens and young adults. We decided to get a couple of them to keep the lonely kitty at the farm company. Right now they are closed inside the house to get them used to the place. As soon as this weather breaks (gets hot again), we will have to let them out since there isn’t any electricity to keep them cool.

Both are beautiful and very sweet. Patches, the resident cat, hates them of course, but at least she is staying in the same room with them now and knows she is not alone.

Wet Again

How wet is it? Just look at the difference in the thistle blooms. Today’s while misting rain ALL DAY LONG.

Wet Thistle Bloom

While dry, they resemble pin cushions as seen in the photo below (previously posted the first part of June). I’m fond of the photo above to tell you the truth. You normally do not see or notice the color inside the blooms and the ragged and wet look resembles my hair of late! ;)

Festivities Report

All in all a good day even though the fireworks in the next town over were cancelled. Just too muddy, no where to park or walk! No matter, several neighbors all over our little town put on a pretty darn good show from the roads in front of their homes. Not being incorporated has its advantages and disadvantages. No laws against popping them, but I’m very sure our dogs would appreciate a ban on the things. They’re all nervous as cats and ready for the booming to stop!

Our gathering at noon was great! Too much food went in my belly, but I suppose that’s what holidays are all about. Not only did we have brisket, ham and all the trimmings here for lunch, we were invited to eat fish and all the trimmings for supper. Even though I’ve been trying to exercise by walking every evening, I’m satisfied my walk tonight wasn’t near enough to burn all the calories I consumed today. Oh well, tomorrow is a new day and I don’t regret a single, delicious morsel that crossed these lips and landed on my hips!

Hope your day was as fun and tasty as mine! :)

July 4th Plans

Got any? :)

We do! We’re cooking with our long time friends and have invited a few more to join us. We plan on having a wonderful time with lots of food and plenty of laughs.

Whatever you do, please be safe and enjoy your day!

The Deluge Continues….

Filed under: That random stuff — DonnaB at 8:49 pm on Monday, July 2, 2007

…. and I promised I wouldn’t complainso this is not complaining…. got it? :)

I’m very fond of the sun and I’m missing it, need it as I’m feeling rather blue lately. It’s almost the same feelings I have in the long, cold, gloomy winters… almost, but not quite. The difference? I’m not bundled up freezing with this blue spell. I’m flip-flopping around in my shorts wishing my camera was around my neck. No such thing these days, got to protect it from the rain, don’tcha know. :P

I’m sure I’ll be whining soon enough about the August heat and the fact we could use a rain again, but right now, I just need some good ol’ sunshine for more than 30 minutes at a time. ;)
