Random STufF from DonnaB

It is hot and muggy and I can already tell I’m not going to cope well with the heat this summer. However, I do like some aspects of summer weather… just look at those delicate begonia blooms!

Seriously, I’ve got nothing to report or say. Oh wait… I could tell you about the husband and our friend’s yard sale, but I won’t. Or, I could elaborate on the day the friend’s wife and I had, but I won’t do that either. I won’t bore you even though we all had a great time visiting and then finishing the day by cooking fish and all the trimmings.

Geez, I just thought I had nothing to say.

Sorry, couldn’t resist that title! This is not a honey bee as you can tell. It’s a rather large bumble bee hanging on for dear life cause it’s weight pulled the bloom over. Look at all that pollen on the bee’s body!

Last year, the honey bees were starving in these parts due to the drought. Our hummingbird feeders were covered with bees most of the summer cause nothing was blooming at all.

What a difference a year makes! There is abundant growth and blooms every where you look. The husband has remarked he hasn’t seen as much wildlife and vegetation in many years.

So… we’re not worrying, we’re “beeing” happy and not complaining at all this year!

What do you think? Does Paris Hilton sound like a great new name or what? Seriously, if you have that name you can be sentenced to jail and released in just three days and I have decided I might like to rob a bank or something!

What a fiasco! It seems she’s been released, but the judge ain’t none too happy about the Sheriff’s department doing so.

Whatever! Too bad there’s not any real news to report in this country.

Well, I was hoping to report Tennessee had their first national championship in softball, but I can’t… well, I could, but I would be lying! Arizona won and they deserved it. They played like champions tonight.

In other news… thinking… guess I don’t have any news so off I go.

Arizona won game 2, so on to game 3 tomorrow night to decide the national championship. It was a good game with Tennessee having the opportunity to win with runners on base in the bottom of the 7th, 8th and 9th, but Arizona held them and went on to win in the 10th with the final score being 1 - 0.

Yeah, I know what you’re thinking and you would be right, I have nothing else to talk about or show tonight!

Yeah, that would be me… along with my internet, my computer, Diet Dr. Pepper and fudge sickles in no particular order! Tonight’s choice on the telly was to watch the Tennessee Lady Vols win in the first game of the best of three against Arizona for the national championship. I have no preference really, but it would be exciting for Tennessee to not only be at the top of the heap in women’s basketball, but to add softball too. Their ace pitcher is an amazing talent and has set all kinds of records. Very exciting to watch her perform along with the rest of the talented team members. Okay, I said I had no preference, but I think I just talked myself into cheering them on!

We’ve had an abundance of wildflowers due to the amount of rainfall we’ve received this spring. Here are a couple of favorites.

This morning, the husband saw a young jackrabbit and has an excellent photo of it on his site. He was excited to show me when he returned home cause they have been scarce in this part of the country for a long time now. We think their decline was due to those darn fireants. Hopefully, today’s sighting could mean they are making a comeback.

Well, lo and behold, we made a return trip to work on the fence and there it was again! I managed to get a few shots, but none even close to what he captured earlier in the day.

…is it wasting it? Lynne posted about this site and now I’m spending way too much time playing. But, really, in the grand scheme of things does it matter? It doesn’t cost a thing and it is entertaining!
