This stinks!

I didn’t think Stephanie was the best singer, but she should not have left before that hair guy.

Here’s the real deal, Howard “Shock Jock” Stern and this site are keeping Sanjaya in the running and let me tell you, it’s just wrong on so many levels. I like the kid, I really do, but he is not a singer and as Simon loves to say, “It is a singing competition!”

In other Idol news, I’m ready to name my favorite contestant… drumroll please!

It’s Jordin! That girl has some pipes and is a wonderful performer to only be 17. Yes, there are some other great ones still in the race, but she is my favorite of the remaining group.

Melinda and LaKisha are amazing, but they will be fine whether they win or not. Blake is good, but he’s just too dang cocky for my liking. He will have a recording contract whether he wins or not. The rest…. um…. enjoyable, but forgettable!

Psssstttt! Be warned if you follow the link to the Vote for the Worst site, there is some rather racy language.

Idol Again

I liked it… with one exception who doesn’t have to be named since I’ve already complained about him. What the devil? How, seriously, how did he make it to the final 24… and he’s still here in the final 11? Shoot me now cause you know he’s going to get voted through again. Did you see the little girl in the audience crying while he was trying to sing? There’s his audience and his votes. Yeah, he’s cute if you’re 12, but give me a break… unfortunately, it’s been many moons since I saw 12! ;)

That is all….

The fiery depths

Why is it that fire is so very fascinating, yet can be so very devastating?

Looky here!

Our very first EVER Charolais cross calf. The mama is a solid black Limousin Brangus cross. We were hoping to have some smoke colored calves and we weren’t disappointed! He looks a bit tan on my monitor, but he is actually gray.

Late Evening Silhouette

This is an old photo, but a treasured one. About this time of year in 2004, my Hubby, his Dad and I were burning brush just down the driveway from his home. After we finished, Big Jimmy was walking up the drive as the sun was setting and not being one to miss a photo opportunity, I started snapping away. The silhouette of him, the old carport and homeplace are very special to us as in the fall of that year, he passed away at the ripe old age of 90.

As I was looking through my hard drive for photos to share tonight, I ran across this one. I’m so glad I did, it’s very nice to revisit favorites!

Sweet smells of spring….

according to Barb! Another challenge from my favorite group. The arm and hand were provided. I have no idea what my creation represents, but Margaret said I could be looking into my crystal ball to see what summer has in store for us. Barb agreed and added the sweet smells of spring. Nat chimed in with meaning growth to her. Thanks, Ladies! :)

Whoa baby!

Does Diana Ross look almost 63? I think not!

I did not like tonight’s Idol results. I probably will not like next week’s either, especially if Sanjaya is still around. Cute kid, but is the weakest singer of the group. He. Should. Not. Be. There!

My addiction to reality TV continues

The final 12 sang for the first time on the “big stage” tonight. Some were very impressive, some… not so much. I still enjoyed the show although I can’t say I have a favorite among this group. There are three ladies I’m very much enjoying. I have been known to change my mind, so I won’t pick my winner yet! Are you watching?

Would someone come confiscate the guns?

Cause I swear I’m gonna shoot some wayward little darlin’s if they get out again! This drama has been ongoing for nearly a week. I hope I’ve solved the problem by moving them to another pasture. Seriously, I don’t want to resort to violence, but this morning I would have barbecued ever last one of them! Tonight, I’m leaning towards letting them live. ;)
