Daily Postings

I knew it would be difficult for me to post every day in February. I challenged myself to do it and by golly, I’m going to do it! However, this post is lame… I got nothing to show or tell. I know… I’m shocked too! The days of me having nothing to say are few and far between. And just look, I’ve already managed to type more than I ever thought I could tonight. Until tomorrow, I’ll leave you with this to ponder. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? :)

Edited 2/19/07 Good grief, this seriously was a lame post. Really, it is okay if you agree. No more forcing myself to post… well, after this month anyway. ;)

Cool, fun and informative too!

Just found this site today and intend to fully explore and customize over the next few days.

The Free Dictionary

After surfing on dialup for years, the husband and I were surprised to find we were zipping through our surfing rounds on the wireless connection and quite frankly, we were bored! Can you believe that? Us? The most addicted to our computers and the internet people I know?

It was true… so, when I run across these sites that give me something to do as well as entertain and enlighten me, I’m one happy surfer! Hope you enjoy the site too!

Salmonella…

The hubby was in Wally World at the return desk when a guy came in with two paper grocery sacks full of peanut butter lids. LIDS! The clerk started counting them to the husband’s amazement to determine how much of a refund this guy would receive. No doubt you’ve heard about the salmonella outbreak, but what we’re trying to determine is where he got that many jar lids. The clerk finally said although it was none of her business, she had to ask. His reply, “My mother buys lots of peanut butter!” I don’t really think the clerk or my husband bought his story! Where do you think they came from? A nursing home? Daycare center? Really, why would that many jars with that lot number show up in the same place. It takes a lot of lids to fill up one paper sack, let alone two! I think that’s a little bizarre, you?

And guess what? We have the same lot number resting on the shelf in our cabinet. The jar is two-thirds empty and we haven’t become ill yet. I think it’s safe to say we will be just fine although I will take advantage and get a new jar for free!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

An old image from a long time ago, but the sentiment still the same. I also needed a reason to try to learn how to make graphic images popup in their own window, not a full page window.

A beautiful bouquet of roses and a hilarious card… what more could a girl ask for?

Valentine Bouquet

Distinguished Photo Award?

I’m very new to uploading my photos to Flickr and was quite pleased to see this photo was well received by one of the members. You know what this means, don’t you? I’m already addicted to looking for photo ops, now it will be even more of an obsession!

Challenge and valentine inspired image

While I’m forever speaking of graphic challenges, I rarely show the starting image that gets the creative juices flowing. This week we were provided with this:

Challenge 227

And I ended up with this:

Heart and Candlelight

Usually, the challenger’s instructions state the challenge must be recognizable in the final image. As you can see, I duplicated and warped the challenge with Paint Shop Pro X, added a few other things and effects and called it done! We’re not always given a starting image, sometimes it’s an idea, but I much prefer the starting image.
