Our neighbor and friend had melanoma cancer this past summer and is still undergoing treatments. The community his wife grew up in had a benefit for them today and tonight in the way of a poker tournament with excellent prizes, two meals where you paid by donation, and finally, a pie, cake and donated items auction. It was a huge success and very emotional to see the outpouring of love and money their friends and family bestowed upon them. Something they will never forget and neither will I. It makes you realize how wonderful it is to live and be a part of a small community. Keep fighting the good fight, Mike!
Over 4 inches of rain fell last night and today… much needed and a welcome sight! When that much rain falls and there’s really no runoff to speak of, you know it was dry. Our wheat and rye the husband planted will surely come up now. The cows will be very happy about that… and so will I! I’m sick of feeding the beasts and hope they get enough grazing to slow down on the hay or maybe even stop it for a while. We shall see!
While I’m speaking of refreshing… here’s a new graphic I created for the Plus PSP challenge last week. The odd shape of the “used” lemon and lime was the challenge piece.
Sheesh! Could it be any quieter? I’m just worn out at the end of the day and speechless in the mornings. Anybody else have anything to say?
I’m not taking pictures and the images I’ve created lately are just so-so. One of these days, I’ll find the energy to update with something newsworthy or perhaps have a gotcha moment with my camera.
In the meantime, you have my permission to skip this blog on your surfing rounds… it. is. mind numbingly boring up in here!
