Are my husband and I the only people who are annoyed by immigrants who refuse to speak or learn the English language?  Now, don’t misinterpret my intentions here, my ancestors were immigrants.  However, my relatives chose to come to the home of the brave and the land of the free to be AMERICANS and to my way of thinking (and Teddy Roosevelt’s), English is what Americans speak!

“In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag… We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language… and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”

Theodore Roosevelt 1907

The hubby was out and about in the country in the next county over when he saw this home? Amazing and quite sad as it seems to me there really is someone trying to exist there. :-(

Home, Sweet, Home??

It’s just Angel aka Scat and Sassy looking all cute and cuddly.  They normally despise each other, but on this particular day, they weren’t misbehavin’!

Angel and Sassy

Have I mentioned my camera…. no, I don’t think I have.  My hubby had a Minolta film camera from years ago and a couple of lenses.  When I decided I wanted a new camera, I researched and read reviews until I was nearly blind.  I’m fairly certain I drove poor Helen crazy too!  ;-)

After finding the digital SLR’s Konica Minolta had released and learning hubby’s lenses would work with them, I was ready to buy and did just that!  I couldn’t be more pleased although it has been a steep learning curve and the learning is ongoing.  This photo and the others already posted were taken with the Konica Minolta 5D.

Sure hope you enjoy my efforts so far!

I’m lovin’ the Virtual Photographer plugin!  This picture had blown highlights as the little princess was sitting on the window sill and the light coming through the window was TOO much!  So, I played a bit… well…. a lot!  Tis a little wild, but I like it anyway.  ;)

So… I’m going to experiment with blogging and sharing my photos.. probably more of the photo thing, but who knows? I easily change my mind with the way the wind blows! Spring seems to have arrived and thought I would share this lovely peach bloom. Enjoy by clicking the thumbnail for a better view!
