Well, this one went tubing and had a blast!

Mercy, the 6th of July and I’m just now posting! Time flies when you are having fun, don’tcha know?

A few friends, my brother, me and Ed headed out to an area lake to spend the day. We had a wonderful time as the lake wasn’t as crowded as we thought it would be. The campgrounds, cabins and cottages were all taken, but the day use picnic areas were plentiful. We had a great picnic, lots of laughs, beautiful sights and a fierce looking storm blowing in to scare us off the lake. Ed has pictures too, some here and some on his site.

Last sunset… at least for now!

We interrupt your regularly scheduled program of sunsets to share my surprise shot. I had no idea whatsoever I was taking a picture of a frog while trying to get a decent photo of the waterlily. The bloom in the bright daylight was just so-so, but the tiny frog made the whole thing worth sharing.

Another day of fun on the water and this time, Becky and I went swimming off the boat more than once. Now that my friends and family, is what being on the lake is all about as far as I’m concerned. Oh yes, fish were caught, snacks and meals were served, but gliding through that cool water was pure pleasure. Then to come home to find the tiny frog hiding in my camera’s captures was a great bonus and a perfect way to end this day was to share it with you!

And a personal note… thanks to my Aunt Mary for being a faithful reader and commenter! She’s much better at commenting and blogging than I have been in the last couple of months.

There is nothing more beautiful than a sunset reflecting in water. I took many photos over the last week and all have been with my point and shoot Canon or Ed’s point and shoot Nikon. I do love my Minolta DSLR as you know, but the pocket cams have been great for the boating trips. If either one of them accidentally gets knocked overboard, it won’t be such a big deal. The Minolta going diving would break my heart!

Oh… hello! You came back? Look! I actually have something to post about! It appears to me I may have to challenge myself to post again or I’m doomed to let this thing die. I don’t think I will post daily, but I will try to post more than once-a-dang-month!

Our best friends bought and refurbished a pontoon boat or party boat this spring and we’ve taken it out three out of the last five days. Our excursions were worth it as the fish were biting and the weather was perfect! The boat motors were in fine running order, the seating arrangement and the amount of room you have to move around is excellent and our picnics aboard the boat have been entertaining. The four of us have been reminded we can still have fun as we did in the good ol’ days of owning boats and being young! I’ve got a few beautiful sunsets to share with you and I’ll do that in the next few days… unless of course, I’m too busy on the water!

Believe it or not, I’m still here, just too tired at night to add anything new to this here blog. What’s that you say? You think I should try posting in the morning? Well, you don’t know me at all if you think I could possibly put together anything intelligent before noon! I. Am. Not. A. Morning. Person! But, I am alive and kickin’ and hopefully soon I’ll find the inspiration to take a few pictures to share or create a new image or two. Until then, enjoy your summer!

I guess you’ve noticed I lost interest in American Idol several weeks back. Oh, I do admit to recording it weekly, but some weeks, I just couldn’t be bothered to watch it at all. I didn’t care which David won, but I think the right one actually was declared the winner since he took risks week after week and was good. David Archuleta is a talented kid, but I only see him doing ballads. David Cook seems to have the total package, only time will tell!

Remember Taylor Hicks? Nothing much happening for him. Reuben Studdard hadn’t been seen until last night. Fantasia has had some success, but that screaming, booty-shaking performance from last week was too wild even for me and I will tell you I like many genres of music except for rap.

Oh well, until next season where I hope I’m inspired to stay hooked all the way to the very end!
