I was having a good day until I got home and found out there was trouble with the tower.

Think I’ll quit fretting tonight for tomorrow is another day. I’m taking prom photos and I’m happy about that. I like taking pictures of pretty people!

Now keep your fingers crossed I can share the photos online tomorrow night.

They Hatched!

I was afraid we had taken too many limbs below this nest and the mama bird would feel too vulnerable, obviously from this photo evidence, she did not. All five hatched and are doing well so far, but still, STILL no sign of seeing the mother bird. She is watching from a distance I have no doubt. Guess I’ll have to camp on Mom’s porch to spot her.

Our Pet and Egg Identification

This heifer was a bottle calf after her mom had to be put down after giving birth to her. She is obviously still a pet. It is difficult to let them go after feeding them twice daily, so she’s got a forever home with us and her herd.

My friend identified the bird eggs from yesterday’s post as Northern Mockingbird’s. I do believe I should have known that since the Mockingbird is my state bird. Thanks, Sheri!

Bird’s Nest

What kind of eggs? I’m not sure, but I enjoyed finding them. We were trimming the trees at Mom’s when I saw the nest. I went back today to mow and took this photo. I’m thinking a sparrow’s eggs. What do you think?

Happy Mother’s Day

My Mom wanted limbs and shrubs trimmed and we did that.

I also gave her a couple of other gifts too though.

But, I’m paying for her wishes, I’m already sore. Can you say I’m out of shape? Oh, I thought you could!

Mourning Cloak Butterfly

I saw this butterfly when the little kids and I were making a round on their Daddy’s John Deere gator yesterday. We tend to do that nearly every time I keep them, make a round on the gator I mean. They are just old enough now to want to learn about wildlife and nature by learning to spot the butterflies, turtles, terrapins and one day, even a coyote!

Mourning Cloak Butterfly

This is not a great photo, I had the one opportunity to press my shutter and then this beautiful butterfly flew away. It will suffice though until I get another of its kind.

It was a busy Friday and and has also been a busy Saturday for me. A long time ago there was a little girl that lived behind us with her brother and their grandmother. She is now a beautiful, grown, educated and interesting woman. We had the privilege of getting to visit with her today. All three were a special part of our lives back then, it was a great treat to see her today.

I also attended the baby shower for the couple I photographed recently, it is always a fun thing to witness the anticipation and excitement of young parents waiting for a little one’s arrival.

All in all, a great couple of days!

Late Night Ramblings

I made the voice recital and now I’m having a late night editing session, not only from the recital, but from the other photos taken earlier in this day. Now this day is only a couple minutes away from being over with forever… and that’s a long time!

I’ll be back tomorrow with an update, a real update with photos again.

That will make me happy. I don’t like not having photos to post daily, but I think I already said that.

This and That, Mostly That

Would you believe I did not take a photo today?

It’s true, I can’t believe it myself. I’m slipping, but I promise to make it up to myself tomorrow evening. I’m going to a voice recital for my niece and my great-niece and I’m looking forward to hearing them sing.

I talked to my good friend, Sheri, on the phone today and enjoyed our conversation very much, but I always do, so I expected no less.

I also managed to make it to town and get a much needed haircut. Good thing she could get to me this afternoon cause I was a morning and a blowdry away from chopping on it myself. Why is it one day your hair is still okay and the next it is too long and out of control. I don’t get that.

And, finally, I’m through with my update for today. Hate it I have no photos, but it did make me type a few words instead. I’m addicted to posting daily now and sometimes I really have to hunt for something to share, kinda like now.
