I decided to see what I was doing on this here blog of mine last year and was pleasantly surprised to see I had posted a new graphic creation.
And then, two years ago? The same thing.
I would have sworn I wasn’t doing much other than taking pictures. It was good to see I was still playing. I miss those days. The old sites I played at for so many years are now gone. There is a very small group still in touch and sharing and creating new images, but it just isn’t the same.
I’ll forever be grateful I learned to love my Paint Shop Pro and use it to create new graphics. And as you already know, the very same software I love for further tweaking my pictures.
It is very satisfying to look back and see what I was doing as far back as March, 2006. Wow! Almost 10 years of playing with blogging software. I started my very first website many years before that and now I’m not so sure of that date. It was mostly about my graphic creations, tutorials and links listed to find resources for other Paint Shop Pro enthusiasts.
This has been a fun journey for sure.
I had to make one… my Happy New Year animated with music online card that is.
One more time…. follow the link.
I did it! I forget from year to year what I need to do to accomplish this and yes, it is probably an outdated web design, but I frankly don’t care, it works for me.
As stated in my post yesterday, I found these graphics I created a couple of years ago when I couldn’t get the mojo going to make new ones. That’s okay, I was on a roll when I created this one, I don’t mind reusing it. I did have to add a few new layers of lights to save and then take into my Animation Shop, an old program no longer made.
This was fun! Maybe I’ll manage something else before 2015 leaves us.
Be aware there are big files associated with this page and the music auto plays, although you can stop it with the controls at the bottom and repeat the lovely Sarah McLachlan singing “Silent Night” if you need to hear it again. It is a stunning rendition of the classic.
Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

I can’t quit eating and I can’t quit playing!
I created this for my Facebook page today from old graphics I had made a couple of years or so ago. I started out to make something new, but I just couldn’t muster up any creativity at all other than to make this work. So, this will just have to do for now.
And the eating part? It’s still raining. I can’t get out of this house to do anything. I have made a dozen or more trips a day to the kitchen and I am not hungry. THIS must stop!
And so should the rain. 15 plus inches and counting for this month of November according to the rainfall totals from the next little town west and the majority of that total has been since Thursday.
Cooper Lake is spilling over its emergency spillway, I think they said for the first time ever. Sulphur River is way out of its banks in many places downstream and it is backing up south and east of here. Roadways are closed, bridges have washed out in many places all around us, not just SE of here and the water is and will be standing for quite a while.
Everybody needs a break, our cattle need a break. It’s time!
That is all.
This is from the other afternoon when the Canada Geese were on a pool as we were driving around looking for wildlife. It was just an okay picture, but I love it as a painting. One of these days, I’m going to have one of these virtual paintings printed just to see what it looks like. They do look amazing on my screen.
This is from last night. I’ve said before my Tamron wildlife lens is just not the greatest for landscapes, but gosh I do love the painted effect on this. One of these days I’m going to go out to take sunset pictures with a wide angle lens on.
I played with my Corel Paint Shop Pro and added the painting effects with two plugins from Topaz Labs. One called Topaz Clean and a detailed cartoon effect and the other from Topaz Simplify and now I’ve forgotten, but something in the sketched preset list and layered and then merged the effects. I like it!
The frame and mat are furnished in PSP and all I did was recolor them to suit me.
We went out to the pool again and walked up quietly from the dam side hoping to see the Wood Duck again this evening. There were no ducks at all, only an ugly old turtle’s head sticking up and looking around, a million and one little frogs and a Great Egret that promptly flew away.
Oh well, I won’t give up on seeing the Wood Duck again now that I know he was out there. Maybe I should check out all the pools in the area, you think?
I used to dabble in creating graphic images weekly at a favorite hangout. These days it is rare for me to do anything other than edit pictures. I got to looking back tonight at this date in prior years and found this from July 19, 2007. While I have created better things in the past, this was definitely interesting. We were given a diving tank/mask….not sure what that thing was called….and I came up with my image.
I miss doing those, maybe the Christmas spirit will hit me and I’ll create something new when December rolls around.
