My Friend, Margaret

February 8th, 2013

Years ago, when not long after I first started playing in Paint Shop Pro graphics communities online, I met a wonderful Scottish lady who had married a Brit and left her dear Scotland behind. They had a beautiful daughter and a good looking son-in-law who, in time, gave them two handsome grandsons.

She and I developed an online friendship with learning Paint Shop Pro as our common interest. However, she shared personal stories and photos of her family and I shared mine with her as well.

We were separated by miles of land and ocean, but had many things in common. We loved to have a good laugh and enjoyed meeting others just like us in more than one graphics forum.  However, Margaret spent the last decade and a little more as a coordinator at PlusPSP.com. While I have played at the site off and on as my creativity allowed, she has been steadfast, helpful and fun to interact with to old members and new and enjoyed great relationships with many at PlusPSP.

Last June, our dear Topsy, as she was known to most online, was diagnosed with esophogeal cancer. Today, she succumbed to the dreaded disease and I am sad along with her many other friends and family.

I will forever miss her emails, hearing about her precious grandsons’ achievements and their many weekends and holidays spent with her and her loving husband.

She was a dear person, a faithful friend and one who had a wonderful wit about her.

We may not have met here in person on this Earth, but I do hope to meet her face-to-face someday.

Love you, Margaret, mean it.

Oh,sis… I am in tears reading this. I have been away so long but I will always remember “Topsy” and what a joy she always brought to the PSP community.

    Love you…

Donna I was out of the loop when you wrote this yesterday and I’m so sorry that you lost a friend! We both know how hard it can be to have someone we know (online or in person) to leave us behind. I have some friends I only know from online relationships and I must say they are as precious as the ones I know face to face. I hope you will be okay! Love you and I sure do miss seeing you my friend!

Donna I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I know full well the connection we can make with others via the Internet when common interests bond us and friendships flourish. I will be thinking about you as you miss your friend. Hugs to you my dear friend.

So sorry Donna. I am sure you were a blessing to her across the miles. She sounded like a neat person.
