Our all school reunion was held tonight and we had a great time! It’s always a good thing when you and your husband graduated from the same school. He’s not bored and neither was I!
I will admit I was a little disappointed in the turnout from my age group. I think I’ve explained before we went to a rural school where each senior graduating class may not have had more then a handful of seniors on any given year. Ed’s class had only seven and unfortunately two of those class members are already deceased. I had fifteen and two of mine are also deceased.
Well, as disappointed as I was with my group, I still had a good time taking photos and visiting. There’s always next year to work on getting them to come or in some cases, getting them to come back cause some have shown up some years. I do find the year between the gatherings flies by, maybe that is what some think, “I saw those folks last year, I’ll skip this one and return for the next.”
Here’s hoping we all have a next!
I played again this week and turned the challenge object at PlusPSP….
…into pins in a pin cushion.
It was a fun challenge and I’ve had a good time trying to create all of these elements.
When I am in a creative mode, this is pure relaxation for me after a long week with the little kids.

And one I love!
My original photo (greatly resized to show here) taken at one of the fourth of July fireworks shows.
My workflow involved editing the RAW file in Adobe Lightroom and then opening in Paint Shop Pro X3, cropping it square to get rid of the people and really, it was not a great photo to begin with and normally I would have trashed it. However, I was shooting towards the tractor, tent and the people cause I was looking for all things ”red”.
I liked my crop and the vignette I added with a plugin called Topaz Adjust, but after playing even more with Adjust, I got this highly edited HDR look and I. Liked. It! I liked it a lot! I appreciated the way the details are enhanced, something I am usually not a fan of, but this worked for me.
I actually shared this final edit with my photo club members as one of my photos for our “red, white and/or blue” theme last month, they liked it a lot too!
The grasshoppers are horrible here this summer and the spiders are doing what they can to rid of us them…I have proof! In fact, there are many, many webs lining the fences. It’s not a pleasant sight, but it is fascinating.
Fifty-five years ago my momma and daddy became parents for the first time. I’m sure they were excited when their dark-haired little bundle of joy arrived in the middle of that hot summer in 1957.
Oh my, oh my where has the time flown?
I am that first child of theirs and I’m happy God chose them to be my parents!
Happy Friday the thirteenth birthday to me…it’s been a great one with dozens of birthday wishes on Facebook, phone calls, cards, presents, a cake and the little kids singing to me. I couldn’t ask for more.
