TrueHDR is one of my Favorite Apps

March 18th, 2012

The other evening I was looking for “junk” photos.  Junk is the theme for the month for our photo club.  We have a Facebook group page where we share our finds for the month and then we usually save our favorites to share at our meetings.  This is one of the shots I shared this week and it was taken with the TrueHDR app.  I like it, I like it a lot! Of course then I shared it with the Instagram community which resulted in the square crop format.

Although it looks like a lot of work went into getting the photo, it actually was just a few choices I made in first composing and then editing the shot with the app.  The first shot is the auto exposure the app chose for the sky and the second photo is the auto exposure the app chose for the foreground.  There are options to choose the exposure points, but so far, auto has suited me just fine.  You do have to be very still as once these different exposures are taken, the app merges them into one photo once you make that choice.  From that point, you can then adjust the warmth, contrast, saturation and brightness of the photo.  There are also preset editing choices you can make such as sepia, black and white, a retro effect and several more.  It is just too easy and you get great results!

March Photo-a-Day “corner of your home”

Yeah, it’s old school dark paneling and a crappy photo. Yes, the iPhone doesn’t do well in dark places and I hate flash photography, so there. We’re not much on change around here.
