Taxes, an Airplane and a Flyboy

March 29th, 2012

You know if you know me what I’m talking about.  It’s crunch time, I’ve put off working on our income tax as long as I can and today I made a dent in the receipts.  Oh yes, I know if I were a real bookkeeper, I would do this stuff weekly or at least monthly, but oh no, not me!  I have to stress about it all at one time.

Just for the record though, when I do finally make up my mind I can’t put it off any longer, I’m a beast.  I can whip those receipts left and right and make a dent in one afternoon.  I’m not done, but I’m definitely closer than yesterday.

I took photos of the airplane spraying in the vicinity of where the kids live yesterday.  The pilot just so happens to be the lifelong best friend of the little kids’ Dad, so it was special getting to watch him maneuver that plane.  I agreed with the little boy yesterday when he told me he “likes that sound”.  The buzzing of the aircraft was exciting to a nearly three-year-old kid and this nearly 55-year-old one too.  The almost four-year-old girl loves the pilot, but she doesn’t particularly care for the sound of the plane’s engine.

This shot was taken with my iPhone, with the Camera+ app and then edited with the King Camera app.

This gallery was taken with my Nikon D5000.

The kids were actually settling down for a nap when the little boy heard the plane coming.  He jumped up and ran to the window.  His excitement was definitely contagious, I am happy I was there to witness all of it and to tell both kids, “hurry, let’s go outside!”

It was an awesome opportunity to aim my cameras and I am happy with the shots although most are cropped as I only had my 55mm – 200mm telephoto lens with me.

Sometimes, my life is really good.
