Yesterday Ed and I decided we would head west and do a bit of sight seeing and shopping and of course, eating! We certainly never expected to see anything out of the ordinary, but were pleasantly surprised to find a unique photo opportunity. Who would have thought about camels in a pasture in our part of the world? Oh there is that traveling circus that winters just across the river in Oklahoma, but this was no where near that area.
There was one pasture with two camels and two miniature donkeys and another with llamas and more donkeys. They were too far away from us and besides all that, the one camel was in our faces and would not have dreamed of sharing the limelight anyway.

I’ve never been that close to a camel(s), they are homely and a bit rude with all the noises and their lack of manners in controlling the drool.
Although, this one just happily grazed and acted as if no one was around.
It was a beautiful day and one I enjoyed very much. It is always nice to do anything out of the ordinary and I promise you heading west when we leave home is not the norm; the camels were definitely a bonus.

What a marvelous surprise. Hard to believe these could be in the neighborhood and not know about them. You’d think word would travel at a camel’s gallop, or something like that!
